Come out and kick it with us every Thursday night for Karaoke with a twist! You may have done karaoke, but you've never done it like this! Come and sing your heart out to your favorite jam, but make sure you know the lyrics!!!
Open Mic Fridays
Do you have a dope piece that you want others to hear? Are you an aspiring musician that want to get your music out there? Or if you just want to come out and support local artists in the community, then we have the perfect night for you! Come out every Friday night to sing, spit, and play your heart out!!
Live Music Saturdays
Join each and every Saturday to hear some dope jams of local live musicians, bands, and DJs. We will feature different spoken word artists that will speak their piece with the background jams of the band or musician. The DJ will also spin hits from the genres of music that we all love: old school hip-hop, R&B, soul, reggae, afro-beats and much more.
Regina Griffus-Owner
Growing up listening to old school hip hop artists such as De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Leaders of the New School, Digable Planets and many more, helped shape Regina's love for the culture, hip-hop, and spoken word. After Love Jones hit the scene in the 90's with her favorite actor Larenz Tate, she just knew she had to find The Sanctuary. Although, it was a fictional place, she decided to create her own. Coupled with her love of the culture, art of spoken word, music and food, Mahogany's was born.
